Burns-Bulletin Week Three Term Four

Room 8 Burns Bulletin Term 4 Week 3

Week Two in Room 8 saw a turn around with the groups that were leading in the group points situation. Nuclear Fusion and The Racist Rashes were the front runners all week and they ended up battling it out right down to the final bell at the end of the week. Nuclear Fusion took out the shield which is now getting very close to see who will win the overall year champion for this.

Inquiry and debating in Room 8 for Term Four has started and their has been a lot of interest in both. Debating is something that is new to those of you who have not done it before and I hope that you are able to pick up some skills that you can use in the future. The inquiry we are looking at participating in this term deals with the use of the media and news. Room 8 is hoping to get on to Taravision in Week’s 8 and 9 of this term.

The Palmerston North Cultural Exchange is at school this Thursday and Friday with people taking billets and some performances by both groups on Friday morning which will be great to see.

Another stellar performance from Room 8 in the Burns-Martin Trophy on Thursday afternoon with Room 8 lifting the trophy for the 7th time this year and a record setting 6th win in a row.

The awards in Room 8 for week 2 are as follows:
Drum: Jason the Bumble Bee
Shield: Nuclear Fusion
Belt: Corey (Jason the Bumble Bee)
Wings: Terina (Nuclear Fusion)
People’s Choice Award: Philippa (The Racist Rashes).

Week three is a shortened week with it only going from Tuesday to Friday. Your homework grids are due this Friday afternoon so make sure that they are in and do not forget that you are able to email them to Mr. Burns if you want to. This week we will also be watching the Palmerston North Cultural Exchange on Friday for an extra special treat.
